SETTING
The house is in the unspoilt and quiet village of Orches which is perched on a hilltop on the
edge of the Burgundy vineyards and has spectacular views of the surrounding countryside,
including, on a clear day, Mont Blanc. The village is 15 minutes from Beaune and surrounded by
beautiful countryside and historic villages.
Originally built as a farm estate in the mid-19th
century, the buildings comprise a limestone built farmhouse on two levels, with 2, enormous,
vaulted wine "caves" underneath. Attached is a large stone barn, formerly used as stables for
animals and then latterly for making local wine. The house is located on a quiet village road
and has safe play areas.
